3D PrintWell is based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire — but the businesses we work with are spread across the East Midlands and beyond. From Northampton and Kettering to Leicester, Milton Keynes, and further afield, we regularly work with companies that want a reliable, communicative, local-feeling 3D printing partner rather than an anonymous online platform.
Here's a look at how we work, who we work with, and what makes us the right choice for East Midlands businesses.
Our Location and Why It Matters
Wellingborough sits at the heart of the East Midlands, with easy access to the M1, A45, and A14. That makes us genuinely convenient for businesses in a wide corridor stretching from Northampton in the south to Corby and Kettering in the north, and from Bedford in the east to Rugby and beyond in the west.
For customers who want to drop off a sample or collect a finished part in person, we're an easy drive. For those who prefer to work entirely remotely, we communicate by phone and email and can deliver via courier to anywhere in the UK.
What We Do
We are a professional FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) 3D printing service. We produce functional parts, prototypes, tooling aids, custom components, display items, and more — across a range of materials including PLA, PETG, ABS, and TPU.
We also offer design support for customers who don't have a ready-to-print file. Whether you have a broken part you need reproduced, an idea you want turned into a 3D model, or a CAD file that needs preparing for print, we can help at every stage of the process.
The Types of Businesses We Work With
We work with businesses of all sizes, across a wide range of sectors:
Engineering and manufacturing firms who need prototype parts, one-off components, or replacement parts for machinery that's gone out of production.
Small and independent businesses who need custom items — product displays, branded components, custom packaging inserts, or tooling — but don't have the volume to justify traditional manufacturing methods.
Architects and designers who need physical scale models to communicate concepts to clients or planning authorities.
Automotive and motorsport businesses — of which there are many in the East Midlands — who need custom brackets, covers, ducts, and prototype components.
Electronics and technology businesses who need custom housings, enclosures, and mounting solutions for their devices.
Tradespeople and contractors who need a one-off bracket, spacer, or custom fitting that doesn't exist off the shelf.
Our Approach
We're a small, specialist team. That means when you contact us, you speak to someone who actually knows 3D printing — not a sales rep or a customer service handler reading from a script. We give you honest advice about whether 3D printing is the right solution for your project, what material to use, and what the realistic outcomes are.
We don't promise things we can't deliver. If a job isn't right for our process, we'll tell you, and where we can, we'll point you in the right direction.
Turnaround Times
For most standard jobs, we aim to have parts ready within 1–3 working days from approval. For urgent projects, same-day or next-day turnaround is often possible — get in touch and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Getting a Quote
There's no complex process to get a quote. Send us your file (STL, STEP, OBJ, or similar), or describe what you need if you don't have a file yet, and we'll come back to you promptly with a price and timeline.
We serve businesses across Northampton, Wellingborough, Kettering, Corby, Rushden, Daventry, Rugby, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Bedford and the wider East Midlands. Wherever you are in the region, get in touch — we'd be glad to help.
